ARGENT'S ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY
Argent Materials is committed to driving positive change and fostering equity in the Oakland community. As proud members of this city, we embrace our responsibility to care for the environment and stay connected with our neighbors. Oakland is our home, and this sense of stewardship shapes everything we do.
Additionally, we use our resources to support Oakland through:
- Daily street cleaning with our equipment and team members.
- Donating materials and labor to affordable housing projects, tree plantings and fundraisers.
- Supporting local non-profits such as LuLu’s House, Cypress Mandela and Men of Valor.

STREET CLEANING
Illegal dumping is a significant issue, contributing to environmental degradation, public health risks and increased cleanup costs for the City of Oakland. Daily, an Argent team contributes by cleaning over 3 miles of streets as their responsibility to a clean Oakland.

This means operating industry leading-zero emissions facilities while supporting local non-profits and community groups, cleaning up the trash dumped illegally in our neighborhoods, hiring locally-including returning family members and so much more. ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE IN OAKLAND
Oakland is an overburdened community with a long history of industrial activity and impact from local and international travel. Argent is one of many companies in the area. We take pride in working to minimize our environmental impacts while maximizing economic and social support systems to the community. As you will see in the below environmental justice policy, Argent is committing to continuously learning more about these issues, reducing our footprint wherever possible, and doing our best to be a good neighbor to all in Oakland.

Argent hires locally. Over 50% of employees are Oaklanders, many hired from the Cypress Mandela Training Center, Men of Valor, Oakland Beautification Council, and other local job placement agencies.
